Kanchana is a seasoned human resource specialist as well as a researcher in areas relating to implicit bias, gender equity, and international development.

She is completing her Masters in Labor Relations and Human Resource Management and Development at the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) where her scholarly research focuses on implicit bias within the workplace and its impact on employee performance.  Her research incorporates interviews and case studies with corporate workers across a range of seniority levels with the global apparel industry.

Driven by her research findings, Kanchana created an employee friendly training and development program and has piloted this training programs with an apparel company in Bangladesh. She has also worked as a gender advocate and human resource specialist for global apparel and supply chain companies, MAS Holdings (Sri Lanka) and Li & Fung (Dhaka).

Kanchana holds a BAH in Social Science from Asian University for Women, Chittagong, Bangladesh and California State University Long Beach (Ex) and a certification in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Personnel Management.
